Our 2009 Winter Blizzard Surprise
We were fortunate to have white snow on the ground for Christmas this year. We were amoung the millions blanketed with snow along the East Coast. The down side is the snow lasted only one week. Warmer temperatures and rain caused the snow to melt thus ending the neighborhood sledding and snowboarding. It was kind of difficult to measure the snow with the constant wind drifts. Our local television station indicated we had accumulated 20 to 25 inches. It took two days to uncover three cars and an additional day to shovel the long driveway. I am looking forward to it snowing again. And my son Griffith can't wait to go snowboarding again!

Puppy in a Pumpkin
I originally created this little puppy in a pumpkin pin from the Halloween card I selected for my partner....but after making him I just had to keep him. So I made Yvette another pin instead.

Fire Hydrant Halloween Costume Pin Doll
The theme for Pin Doll Alley's October swap was 'Halloween Card.' Members were asked to create a pin from a photograph or illustration on any Halloween Card of their choice. The card I selected showed a young boy dressed in a fire hydrant costume and being backed into a corner by all kinds of dogs. I created the little boy in his fire hydrant costume along with his spilled Halloween candy (made out of polymer clay) and several dogs...which are also pins. I had so much fun making this little guy and my cats were not interested in any of the dog pins. Go figure. My partner for this swap was Yvette and she made me an adorable little pin you can see HERE on her blog.

Mouse Book Bag Pin
I created this little four inch mouse book bag for my Pin Doll Alley partner Karen. The theme for the September swap was School Book Bags. Members were asked to create a book bag pin for their partner. The little mouse book bag opened up to reveal a handmade fabric notebook with lesson plans on all the pages. The book bag Karen created for me was an adorable bookbag pin for me which you can see on her blog HERE.
