Discovery Channel Oct 4th

Looking forward to October 4th at 10pm on the Discovery Health Network. My daughter Alison (a make-up and SPX artist) worked on the second story airing about a woman struggling to treat a rash. Originally we were given a wrong airing date but Alison received notice last night that it will air on the 4th.

80th Birthday

We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday last weekend. She enjoyed the surprise party as well as seeing all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone had a great time.

One Persistent Bird

How can a bird be persistent you ask? Well, it all started three a half weeks ago, when this little persistent Robin would not leave us alone. He showed up at our front door knocking on the glass storm door with his beak. My dog would bark at him and he would fly to the nearest tree wait a few minutes and then fly back and continue his daily ritual of knocking on my door. After a few days our dog gave up barking at him and settled on napping.

Every morning when we would go to our cars we noticed our side view mirrors were filthy and dirty. We were cleaning our windows every morning because of this little persistent Robin.

It seems our bird was seeing his reflection in the window of the glass storm door and in the side view mirrors. He was confusing his own reflection with that of a rival bird. He was telling the "rival" bird that this was his territory. Several times I would open my front door and leave the storm door closed so my cats could not escape and still see outside. The crazy bird wasn't afraid. He kept on knocking on the door while my cats were on the other side of the door watching him with their tails waving wildly and making weird sounds. He stalked our house for 3 1/2 weeks.

A day before he left, he managed to fly up to the windows in the livingroom and began to knock on those windows. Finally after a while it was silent. We thought he had left and given up. Not a chance. I looked out the window and he had clung himself to the bottom of the storm door which had a screen on it. He positioned himself on the window screen and proceeded to peck at the door again. Later I went into the kitchen and looked out my window and there he was. This time he flew to the back of the house and was clinging to the window screen. He would fly away when I tapped on the window but would return a minute later. The second time he attached himself to the window screen I took this photograph of him. You can see him in the center of the picture. I have never seen a more persistent bird than this little Robin. It would not surprise me if he comes back to visit us next spring. I'm sure my cats will be waiting....as far as the dog....I doubt it....he is sleeping again.

Bethany Beach, Delaware

Spent a couple of days in Bethany Beach, Delaware. All of the summer crowds had left the week before. Looking at the Atlantic Ocean and listening to the waves was very calming.....it made you want to stay longer. Here are a few pictures I took before I went shopping.
