The Mad Hatter

Alison was invited to a Halloween Party at the Fado Irish Pub in Annapolis. Below are the before and after pictures of her costume in progress....she may not have won the costume contest held last night....some think it was a fixed contest...however that did not stop her from being a fan favorite...her costume was even included in this annapolis link. Did I mention that my daughter is a costume designer and stage, film and SPX makeup artist? She did a fabulous job and yes, it is better looking in person. You can see more of her work on her Flickr Account.

Halloween Is Near....

Here are a few pictures of the little Halloween village my kids put up since they were little. Along the way a few Halloween houses and people have broken, but they were quickly replaced.

When my kids were small we would decorate the inside of the house as well as the outside. One of the three was always having a Halloween party in the familyroom. We would select a theme and decorate it. Every year we had to make each party more spectacular than the year before. We would plan indoor and outdoor games, costume contests and one year we decorated our garage as a laboratory. We had boxes and boxes of decorations, lights and kitchenware. And yes, we made all kinds of Halloween sandwiches, cookies, cupcakes, fruit trays and drinks. We would play scary music outside as the little trick or treaters ventured up our walkway. Lit pumpkins would line the entrance as our makeshift scarecrow would sit on our bench wearing my husband's clothes. Even though my kids have outgrown our family Halloween parties, I know they enjoy decorating and partaking in the festivities. And who wouldn't? Halloween is a fun holiday.

Is anyone thirsty?

Kat's Halloween Batsella Art Doll

I had to share a picture of Batsella by Kat Lees. Kat told me she had a surprise for me and boy did she ever! She shared with me pictures of the doll she created called 'Batsella.' She created this witch to go along with her Halloween Spider Coach online class on Cloth Doll Artistry. Kat combined two of my online classes to create Batsella. She used my Gigi online class and my Halloween Night Painting online class to create her. Isn't she great. I love the metallic paint colors she used as well as the orange fabric. All of it was perfect. Four stars Kat!

Alison's Make-Up Work on Televison

I finished watching the segment of the Discovery Health Network program my daughter helped work on last June. Alison was one of two special effects make-up artists used for a program about a woman with a persistent rash. Her work was great and we were able to get a picture of her name among the closing credits.

Good Job Alison!
