Alison's Paintings

In December 2006 my oldest daughter Alison painted a Cherry Blossoms tree as a Christmas gift for us. She purchased four canvases in two different sizes and painted the tree onto all four frames.

Recently, Alison painted another tree as a wedding gift for a friend. During a nature walk she stumbled across this bare tree and sketched it out and added a secret word in one of the branches. She applied a textured and raised effect to the roots and limbs and painted the tree black. It was stunning and the bride and groom loved their one of a kind gift.

A Black Cat Pin Doll

Cleaning up my sewing area I noticed my Scrap Box was overflowing with fabric scraps again....in layman's terms this means it was Pin Doll Time! After looking at a small piece of black fabric, pink ribbon, and a strand of rhinestones, I drew up a pattern, sewed it together and attached a jewelry pin back to it. And what do you get? A five inch Black Cat with Flair!
I am going to try to set aside time in the evenings to finish my other 'Scrap Box' creations.....they are starting to take over my sewing table.

Too Many Bananas

My husband brought home a bunch of bananas and then my daughter brought home a bunch. We like bananas but we had too many. What's a girl to do? Bake Banana Muffins, of course. I found a good recipe on the Joy of Cooking website. Not too sweet....just perfect.
