Before Computers

I love my computer.I love how I am able to create anything with my graphic arts programs. Before computers became a staple in everyone's homes, all of my graphic arts projects had to be done by hand. I had been asked to create flyers for schools, churches, and community agencies. The other day I was cleaning out one of my filing cabinets and came across two flyers I created in the early 80's for the police department Dan was employed with. Unfortunately, dozens of other flyers have gone missing along with photographs of set designs I created for several of the departments holiday parties over the years.

Renovated Station House

This evening the kids and I met up with Dan at the Open House and Christmas Party of the Sheriff's Office District 3 station house. Everyone enjoyed the food, the holiday cheer as well as a visit from Santa.

However, one of the highlights of the evening was getting a personal tour of the newly renovated building that Dan helped design. The building was purchased with the hopes of turning it into a state of the art police station and Dan certainly delivered. From the district commanders offices to the newly constructed jail cells. It was a pleasure to see first-hand the finished results of endless months of planning and designing to accomodate the needs of each division. This is one of many accomplishments Dan has achieved in his thirty plus years in law enforcement. Not only were we proud of him this evening, it was nice to see others enjoying the new facility as well.

Our Christmas Tree

We purchased a seven-foot artifical tree this year and decorated it with ornaments we have collected since the kids were small. We have so many different kinds of ornaments, but my favorite ones are the ones my kids made when they were in elementary school.
